Top of the Lump

We loved our stay at this cabin. All the decor including Christmas decorations were perfect. Spent alot of time enjoying the view from the sun room. It had everything we needed, except a standard size coffee pot. The small hotel size pot was not ideal. The listing of amenities did not give as much details as we are use to with VRBO, we had delays reaching the host/property manager to ask questions prior to arrival. Good communication on check-in day. It was a wonderfully cozy weekend.

Loved this cute cabin. It has everything you could need, including ample electrical outlets in every room - a great bonus! Lots of lighting options. Amazing view. Faces south, I think, so you don't get a full sunrise or sunset, but you get part of both. I always want to know about mattresses in rentals, so... the master bedroom mattress is very comfy. It's a 2 or 3 inch thick pillow top mattress. Nice in cold weather; it kind of hugs you. However, my back prefers a firmer mattress. Access to the cabin was a little challenging for us flatlanders. Had to drive a few miles on narrow dirt roads. The Parkway was closed in that area when we were there. An open Parkway would probably make access a little easier. Driveway is pretty steep, but we got used to it. You'll also need to be able to handle a flight of 20 steps to get down to the level of the cabin. Owner was very responsive when we had questions. Overall GREAT experience. We will be back.

This was a perfect stay for us! We were looking for a perfect place to stay in for a day and just soak in the view and this was it. The cabin was a perfect size and well equipped for our food prep. The sunroom allowed us to enjoy the view while sitting in our recliners! We can’t wait to come back!

I surprised my mountain man of a husband with this getaway for his birthday and it was the perfect fit! This place is truly as good as it looks and then some. Just wait til you see the views in person! The place was super clean, kitchen was well stocked, and you’re even surrounded by adorable cabin decor. The place was well marked from the road and the driveway was steep but also doable without four wheel drive. We loved that we got to bring our pup with us too! Don’t hesitate to book this one and prepare to lounge in a delightful atmosphere. One thing to note is that the acorns can be quite loud when falling onto the metal roof. Made for some good startles and laughs!

Really enjoyed this cabin. Very clean and the view is spectacular! I would recommend a larger coffee pot and send future clients detailed instuctions on how to reach the cabin. I found the best route was from Boone trail off HWY 421 to the cabin. GPS can find it easier without road closures. All in all I still rate it 5 stars.
